Privacy Policy

Montessori Makers Pilots is a certification program operated by Montessori Makers LLC, an Illinois limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Our principal contact is info@montessorimakers.org.

We are registered in Illinois. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.

When you register for an account or purchase certification, we collect:

• Identity data: full name, email address, password (hashed; we never store it in plain text)
• Profile data: target city, Montessori credential type (optional)
• Payment data: processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or bank details. We receive a Stripe customer ID, payment status, and the email used at checkout.
• Observation data: the name and email of the guide who supervised your classroom observation, and the date and school of that observation.
• Usage data: which lessons and tracks you have completed, and when your certificate was issued.
• Communication data: any messages you send us through our contact form or by email.

• To create and maintain your account and deliver access to the platform.
• To process your payment through Stripe and fulfill your certification purchase.
• To issue your certificate and send it to you by email.
• To send transactional emails: observation confirmations, certificate issuance notices, and account updates.
• To respond to support and contact requests.
• To verify certification status when a school or employer requests it at your publicly shared certificate URL.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or behavioral profiling.

We use session cookies required for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — database and authentication. Data is stored on servers in the United States (AWS us-east-1, Northern Virginia).
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Vercel — hosting and edge infrastructure.

We retain account and profile data for 3 years after your last active session, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Payment transaction records are retained for 7 years in accordance with standard financial record-keeping requirements.

Certificates issued are retained indefinitely to support verification requests from schools and employers. If you request deletion of your account, your certificate verification record will be anonymized (your name removed) but the certificate number will remain resolvable so that prior verifications are not invalidated.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@montessorimakers.org. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email us at the address above.

Montessori Makers Pilots is intended for adults (educators age 18 or older). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it.

We will post any material changes to this page and update the effective date above. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
